Spellbinders- Merry Mischief Collection
Hello, crafty friends!
It’s so much fun to dive into holiday card-making, and today I’m excited to share a collection of cards I created using the new Merry Mischief Stamp & Die Bundle from Spellbinders. This playful collection is packed with adorable critters and classic holiday scenes, all with a fun, mischievous twist. This bundle includes four separate sets: Cozy Waddles, Deck The Paws, Chimney Caper, and Hedge-hugs. You’ll love creating a full set of friendly and funny cards with this bundle.
The Cozy Penguin Card
This warm and whimsical card features a pair of penguins bundled up for the winter. The detailed background was a joy to create.
To create the background, I used the Season Sparkles 3D Embossing Folder on Indigo Card Stock. Then, I applied a little white Pigment ink to the raised areas and colored in the embossed snowflakes with a silver metallic marker. The adorable penguin couple was die-cut using the Cozy Waddles die set. I layered them on a white circle die-cut, and added a festive ornament look using a hanging loop and string die-cut from silver metallic cardstock from the Vintage Layered Ornaments die set.
To finish, the “WARM WINTER WISHES” sentiment was created by hot foiling with gold matte foil using the Comfort & Joy Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die set.
The Skating Hedgehog Card
This card perfectly captures the joy of a snowy day with a sweet little hedgehog ready to hit the ice!
First, I created the icy background by inking the Snowfall Shimmer BetterPress Plate with Hydrangea ink and pressing it onto a Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel. The icy ground was made using the Color Block Scenic Scape die. The cute hedgehog was then die-cut using the Hedge-hugs clear stamp and die set and attached to the ice with foam stickers for a pop of dimension
The sentiment, “skating by with Christmas magic,” was stamped on Poppy cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder for a crisp finish.
The Chimney Caper Card
This card is all about the funny side of Christmas, featuring Santa in a bit of a predicament!
For the night sky, I blended Uncharted Mariner ink onto Breeze Card Stock using a blending brush. I then added white splatter to create the look of stars. The whimsical scene was built with the Chimney Caper Clear Stamp & Die set. I used a die from the set to cut a snowy roofline and then stamped the “cozy wishes for a Merry Christmas” sentiment on it. The roof, the chimney, and Santa’s legs were all attached with foam stickers for a dimensional effect.
I finished the card by adding a few Crystal Mix Gems for a subtle touch of sparkle.
The Peppermint Dog Card
This is one of the most delightful cards in the set, with a playful pug in a Christmas tree costume against a festive peppermint background!
The background was created by embossing dark green cardstock with the Peppermint Stripes Embossing Folder. I then applied white pigment ink over the raised stripes to make the pattern pop. The large peppermint candy was made by pressing the Peppermint Twist BetterPress Plate with red ink onto a Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel, and then die-cutting it with a circle die. A smaller circle was then layered on top to complete the candy look.
The adorable dog character was made with the Deck The Paws die set. For the sentiment, “COMFORT & JOY,” a hot foil plate was used with white foil onto green cardstock, then die-cut and attached to the card. The piece was finished with red embellishments for a final festive touch.
I had such a blast creating these cards with the Merry Mischief Collection. The humorous designs and clever sentiments make it so easy to spread cheer this holiday season. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting out, this bundle has everything you need to create a full set of cards that are sure to make your friends and family smile.
