This fall, explore the Spellbinders Autumn Archives Collection with three unique card designs that embody the essence of the season. Each card showcases different techniques, highlighting the versatility and beauty of the collection. Discover how embossed backgrounds, intricate die cuts, and thoughtful sentiments combine to create stunning cards perfect for heartfelt greetings.
Card 1: "Sending Autumn Cheer"
Background:
An Alabaster cardstock panel was embossed using the Oak Forest 3D Embossing Folder. The edges were then softly shaded with orange and yellow inks using a blending brush, creating a warm, autumnal glow.
Die-Cut Elements:
The main focal points are the intricate leaves and acorns, created with the Falling Leaves Dies from the Autumn Archive Collection. Each piece was enhanced with inks and markers for added dimension, and a white gel pen was used to add subtle highlights along the edges.
Embellishments & Sentiment:
Fashion Gold embellishments provide a delicate shimmer. The “sending autumn cheer” sentiment was created using the Autumn Sentiments BP Plates and Dies from the same collection, pressed with Bark-colored BP ink, and then die-cut.
Assembly:
All die-cut leaves and acorns were adhered to the embossed background using foam stickers, ensuring a beautiful, layered effect.
Card 2: "Autumn Seasons Grove"
Background:
An Alabaster cardstock panel was embossed with the Dimpled 3D Embossing Folder. The landscape was created by die-cutting Fawn cardstock with the Landscape Edges Dies and layering it with foam stickers for a dimensional effect. This entire background was then matted on Cinnamon cardstock.
Die-Cut Elements:
The focus of the card is the trio of trees. These were die-cut using the Changing Trees Dies, with a double-layered design for the leaves using different colors to capture the beautiful tones of autumn foliage. The trees were also adhered with foam stickers to add depth.
Sentiment: The sentiments were created using the Documenting Labels Dies. For an elegant look, the text was layered over a piece of gold metallic cardstock before being attached to the card.
Card 3: "Thanks for a Better Place"
Background and Frame:
A Fawn cardstock panel was die-cut in the center with the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies to create a window. A frame for this window was then crafted by using both the same-sized die and one size larger from the same set, cutting them from Melot cardstock.
Sentiment Panel:
The sentiment panel was created on a Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel. The “Thanks, you make the world a better place” sentiment from the Autumn Thanks Frame Press Plate was pressed onto the panel using the same Bark ink from the previous card. This panel was then attached below the window using foam stickers for added dimension.

The sentiment panel was created on a Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel. The “Thanks, you make the world a better place” sentiment from the Autumn Thanks Frame Press Plate was pressed onto the panel using the same Bark ink from the previous card. Die-Cut and Embellished Elements:
To adorn the card, leaves and acorns were die-cut from watercolor paper using the Falling Leaves Dies (the same set used for Card 1). These were then colored with watercolors to achieve a rich, autumn foliage look. A white gel pen was used to add highlights, making the elements appear more three-dimensional. The leaves and acorns were then arranged and adhered around the window to complete the card.
