Today, we’re taking a closer look at the stunning Texture & Foliage Collection by Suzanne Hue from Spellbinders. This versatile collection allows crafters to create beautiful and intricate wreaths for any occasion. Let’s dive into three different card projects, showcasing the collection’s ability to be customized for both Christmas and autumn themes.

Card 1: Elegant Merry Christmas Wreath

This card features a striking backdrop that makes the festive colors pop.

 

Products Used:

  1. Seasonal Wreath Foliage Dies,

  2. Christmas Cocktails Die Set

  3. Cardstock: Onyx, Sage, Poppy, Blush, and Gold Metallic Cardstock

  4. Ink: Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink

  5. Other: White paint for splattering

  1. Create the background by splattering white paint on a piece of Onyx Cardstock.

  2. Die-cut the wreath from Sage Cardstock using the Seasonal Wreath Foliage Dies. Add depth by inking the leaves with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink.

  3. Die-cut the berries from Poppy and Blush Cardstock.

  4. Use the Gold Metallic Cardstock to die-cut the “Merry Christmas” sentiment.

  5. Die-cut the bow from Poppy Cardstock using the Christmas Cocktails Die Set and adhere it to the wreath.

Assemble all the pieces onto the prepared background.

Card 2: Textured "Merry Christmas" Wreath

This design highlights a cozy, textured background and classic holiday colors.

  2. Gifting Bow Die Set

  3. Hot Foil Plate: Mini Christmas Sentiments Hot Foil Plate (retired)

  4. Cardstock: Anchor, Rainforest, Poppy, Black, and White Cardstock

  5. Embossing Folder: Linen 3D Embossing Folder

  6. Other: Matte Gold Hot Foil, blending brush, and white gel pen

  1. Emboss Anchor Cardstock using the Linen 3D Embossing Folder for a textured base.

  2. Die-cut the wreath from Rainforest Cardstock using the Seasonal Wreath Foliage Dies. Add dimension by blending with ink and drawing highlights with a white gel pen.

  3. Die-cut the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from Poppy Cardstock and layer it on white cardstock.

  4. Use the Mini Christmas Sentiments Hot Foil Plate to hot foil the “Comfort & Joy” sentiment onto Black Cardstock with Matte Gold Hot Foil.

  5. Die-cut the berries and the bow from the Gifting Bow Die Set using Poppy Cardstock. Add highlights to the bow with a white gel pen.

Assemble the wreath, sentiments, and bow onto the embossed background.

Card 3: Autumn "Many Thanks" Wreath

This card captures the beautiful essence of autumn with its warm colors and rustic texture.

  2. Christmas Cocktails Die Set

  3. Glimmer Plate: Curved Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate

  4. Cardstock: Alabaster, Truffle, Acorn, Beewax, Carrot, Cinnamon, Pomegranate, and Violet Cardstock

  5. Embossing Folder: Dimpled 3D Embossing Folder

  6. Ink: Tea Dye Ink and dark brown ink

  7. Hot Foil: Matte Gold Hot Foil

  8. Other: White gel pen, gold embellishments

  1. Emboss Alabaster Cardstock with the Dimpled 3D Embossing Folder. Lightly blend Tea Dye Ink around the edges to create a soft, autumnal shade.

  2. Die-cut the wreath branches from Truffle and Acorn Cardstock using the Autumn Greeting Wreath Dies.

  3. Die-cut leaves from Beewax, Carrot, Cinnamon, and Pomegranate Cardstock. Blend them with dark brown ink for a realistic look.

  4. Die-cut the pumpkins from Carrot and Violet Cardstock. Use ink for shading and a white gel pen for highlights.

  5. Hot foil the “Many Thanks” sentiment onto Black Cardstock with Matte Gold Hot Foil using the Curved Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate, then die-cut it.

  6. Die-cut the bow from the Christmas Cocktails Die Set and adhere it to the wreath.

  7. Assemble the wreath, leaves, pumpkins, and sentiment. Finish the card with gold embellishments.
