It’s always a joy to start crafting for the holidays, and Hero Arts’s new Very Merry Christmas Collection makes it even easier. This collection is full of versatile stamps and dies that allow for both classic and contemporary holiday cards. Let’s take a look at two beautiful cards created with this new collection.

Card 1: Festive Tree Card

This card uses scraps of patterned paper to create a festive tree design. The Festive Tree Die is perfect for this project, just like the popular Christmas card tutorial from the past.

Supplies

  1. Festive Tree Die
  2. Modern Holiday Greeting Stamp & Cut set
  3. Pomegranate cardstock
  4. Versa watermark ink
  5. White embossing powder
  6. Heat tool
  7. Scrap patterned papers
  8. White cardstock
  9. Foam adhesive
  10. Fern cardstock
  11. Gold metallic cardstock

Instructions:

  1. Die-cut the large tree shape from white cardstock using the Festive Tree Die.

  2. Cut strips of various scrap patterned papers and adhere them to the card base behind the die-cut opening.

  3. Attach the white cardstock panel to the card base using foam adhesive for dimension.

  4. Die-cut the small tree shape from Fern cardstock and adhere it next to the large tree on the card front.

  5. Stamp the sentiment from the Modern Holiday Greeting Stamp & Cut set onto Pomegranate cardstock using Versa watermark ink.

  6. Apply white embossing powder over the stamped sentiment and heat-set it with a heat tool.

  7. Die-cut the sentiment and attach it to the card next to the tree.

  8. Die-cut a star from gold metallic cardstock and adhere it to the top of the large tree.

Card 2: BetterPress Merry Card

This card features a bold “MERRY” design created with a BetterPress foil set.

SUPPLIES:

  1. Merry BetterPress Foil Set

  2. Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panels

  3. Oceanside cardstock

  4. BetterPress System

  5. Arch Labels and Tag dies

  6. Blush cardstock

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Using the BetterPress System, press the “MERRY” design from the Merry BetterPress Foil Set onto a Porcelain BetterPress A2 cotton card panel. This design requires four separate presses, each with a different color.

  2. Die-cut the pressed panel using a die from the Arch Labels and Tag set.

  3. Die-cut a matting layer from Blush cardstock using a slightly larger die from the same Arch Labels and Tag set.

  4. Adhere the pressed “MERRY” panel to the Blush matting layer.

  5. Attach the entire piece to an Oceanside cardstock card base to complete the card.
