Hero Arts- Crackin’ Christmas Collection

It’s that time of year again when we start dreaming of Christmas. Today, I’m excited to share two cards I made using the fantastic new “Crackin’ Christmas Collection” from Hero Arts. This collection is full of holiday cheer, and I had a blast creating these festive projects.

Card 1: Elegant Nutcracker Christmas Card

For my first card, I used the Hero Arts Crakin’ Christmas: A Little Nuts Stamp & Die Set. This set features a classic nutcracker and a lovely holiday sentiment.

  • Stamps & Dies:

  1. Hero Arts Crakin’ Christmas: A Little Nuts Stamp & Die Set
  2. Spellbinders Essential Modern Ovals Die Set

  • Ink & Powders:

  1. VersaMark Watermark Ink
  2. Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder

Instructions:

  1. Stamp the nutcracker and the “Nutcracker is my favorite season” sentiment onto white cardstock using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

  2. Cover the stamped images with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

  3. Color the nutcracker image using your preferred markers.

  4. Die-cut the nutcracker and the sentiment.

  5. Take a piece of Indigo cardstock (A2 size) and stamp the star image from the stamp set all over it using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

  6. Cover the stamped stars with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool to create a sparkling, starry background.

  7. Using the Spellbinders Essential Modern Ovals Die Set, die-cut a window in the center of the Indigo cardstock panel.

8. Die-cut a frame from gold metallic cardstock using the same die set to create an oval frame. Adhere this frame around the oval window.

9. Inside the oval opening, attach the colored nutcracker and sentiment using foam adhesive for dimension.

Card 2: Interactive Nutcracker Slider Card

My second card is a fun, interactive slider card that reveals a surprise sentiment! I used the Hero Arts Big Mouth Slider Die Set to create this unique design.

  3. Spellbinders Aquamarine Assorted Treasures Cardstock
  4. Spellbinders Ruby Assorted Treasures Cardstock
  5. Spellbinders Gold Assorted Treasures Cardstock

Ink & Powders:

  1. VersaMark Watermark Ink
  2. Hero Arts White Embossing Powder

Instructions:

  1. Use the Hero Arts Big Mouth Slider Die Set to create the base of the interactive card. Follow the die set instructions for assembly.

  2. Die-cut the nutcracker’s hat, jacket, and details from the Spellbinders Aquamarine, Ruby, and Gold Assorted Treasures Cardstock.

  3. Assemble the nutcracker’s face and beard by die-cutting the pieces from various cardstocks.

  4. Adhere the nutcracker pieces to the slider card base.

  5. For the hidden sentiment, stamp the “Things get a little nuts around here during the holidays” phrase from the A Little Nuts Stamp Set onto red cardstock using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

  6. Cover the stamped sentiment with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

  7. Attach the embossed sentiment to the inside of the slider mechanism so it is revealed when the mouth opens.
