[STAMPtember® Party] Winter Snowflake Inspiration with Simon Says Stamp

Welcome back to the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® 2026 Party! Today, I’m sharing a pair of festive winter cards featuring intricate snowflakes, stenciled details, shimmering pastes, and silver hot foil accents. Both cards feature uniquely textured backgrounds using the Melbourne embossing folder, showcasing two different ways to bring winter snowflakes to life. Let’s dive into how to make them!

 

Stenciled Geometric Fractile Snowflake

Background: Emboss a white cardstock panel using the Simon Says Stamp Melbourne Embossing Folder to create a clean, textured backdrop.

Die-Cutting & Stenciling: Die-cut the large snowflake base from white cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Fractile Snowflake Stencil and Die Set (set1338fs). Stack multiple die-cut layers together for added dimension. Place the coordinating stencil over the top and blend shades of blue ink across the geometric design.

Shimmer Accent: Apply a touch of glitter over the stenciled snowflake for a delicate pearlescent shimmer.

Sentiment & Finishing: Hot foil the “CHRISTMAS GREETINGS” sentiment from Spellbinders Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips onto dark blue cardstock using Silver Foil, then die-cut it into a strip. Attach it across the center of the snowflake and finish with crystal gems.

Shimmering Inked Background with Glitter Snowflake

Embossing & Inking: Emboss a piece of Waterfall cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Melbourne Embossing Folder. Use blending brushes with the Altenew Aqua Island Fresh Dye Ink Pad Set to blend color over the panel, creating darker shading along the edges for depth.

Texture & Shine: Smooth Altenew Pearl Shimmer Relief Paste over the inked background panel to add a gorgeous, luminous sheen.

Snowflake Focal: Die-cut the Simon Says Stamp Frozen Fractal Peace Wafer Die twice—once from white glitter cardstock and once from plain white cardstock. Layer them together for a sturdy, sparkling focal point, and adhere it to the center of the card.

Sentiment & Details: Hot foil the “WARM WINTER WISHES” sentiment from Spellbinders Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips using Silver Foil on a dark strip and attach it across the center. Finish with crystal gems around the background.
