Graduation is such a significant milestone, and sometimes a clean, classic design is the best way to celebrate that achievement. Today, Iโm sharing a sophisticated graduation card that focuses on elegant foiling and bold typography to honor the Class of 2026.
For this project, I wanted the gold details to truly shine, so I chose Raven Cardstock as my base. The deep black provides the perfect high-contrast canvas for the metallic elements.
Hot Foiling: I used the Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set to create the focal points. I applied Matte Gold Hot Foil to the large tassel, the “Class of,” and the “Congrats Grad!” plates. The matte gold on the black cardstock gives it an incredibly polished and upscale look.
Dimensional Die-Cuts: To complement the foiling, I used the coordinating dies from the same set to create the graduation cap, the diploma, and the “2026” numbers.
The Color Palette: For the cap and the year, I layered shades of blue using Cascade, Celestial, and Cosmic Sky cardstock. I also integrated Gold Metal Cardstock for the small diploma ribbon and accents to tie back into the foiled elements.
The combination of the striking blue tones with the matte gold foiling makes this a timeless keepsake for any 2026 graduate!
Happy Crafting, Heejung
