Sweet Shaker Surprises: A Gummy Bear Candy Jar Card

Today’s project is perhaps the most playful part of the Hero Arts March Release! There is something so magical about an interactive card, and I couldn’t resist turning the Penny Candy Jar Die Set into a colorful shaker filled with the most adorable Tiny Bears. If you’re a fan of gummy treats and shaker cards, this one is definitely for you!

The star of the show is the Penny Candy Jar, which I filled with the colorful and realistic Tiny Bears. These little bears have such a fun, dimensional feel that they look just like real candy!

To create the shaker window, I had to pay close attention to the height. Because these tiny bears are thicker than standard flat sequins, I used a double layer of foam tape (or a high-profile foam) to ensure they could move freely inside the jar. While constructing it, I did think that a “fused plastic bag” or “pouch” method might be a great alternative for these thicker elements in the future, but the traditional shaker window still gives it that classic, high-quality look.

For the finishing touches, I die-cut smaller gummy bears using the Bear Hugs Die Set. To make them look even more like translucent candy, I used alcohol markers to add subtle shadows and highlights. Finally, I added a “Have a sweet day” banner in a soft Lavender cardstock, die-cut from the Candy Kebob Die Set, to perfectly complement the rainbow of bears inside the jar.

Interactive cards like this one always bring an extra layer of joy to the recipient. Even with the extra effort to get the shaker height just right, the result is so rewarding! Thank you for joining me on this “sweet” creative journey today.

Happy Crafting, Heejung
