Today, I’m excited to share a vibrant handmade card featuring the To Friendship stamp set from the Simon Says Stamp September release! The key highlight of this card is the seamless, colorful blended background that sets a striking backdrop for bold black floral silhouettes.
Here’s a step-by-step look at how this card came together!
Ink Blend the Background
Start by ink blending a card panel using three ink pad sets from Altenew: Aqua Island Fresh Dye Ink Pad Set, Citrus Punch Fresh Dye Ink Pad Set, and Warm and Cozy Fresh Dye Ink Mini Cubes. Blend the teal, yellow, and warm orange-red tones smoothly across the panel to create a rich gradient background.
Stamp the Silhouette Floral Images
Once the ink blending is dry, stamp the floral silhouette images from the To Friendship stamp set directly over the blended background using crisp black ink.
Prepare and Heat Emboss the Sentiment
On a piece of black cardstock, stamp the sentiment “I CAN’T THANK YOU enough, MY FRIEND” using versatile embossing ink. Sprinkle white embossing powder over the stamped image and melt it with a heat tool for a bold, high-contrast look.
Die-Cut and Assemble
Die-cut the heat-embossed sentiment using its coordinating die. Trim down your blended floral panel, adhere it onto a white card base, and mount the sentiment near the top using foam tape for added dimension.
