Spellbinders- Decembers Stitching Club Slider card
Hello, fellow crafters and card enthusiasts!
Today, I’m thrilled to share a very special project I recently completed using some wonderful December clubs from Spellbinders. This card features the adorable “A Perfect Blend” die set and the elegant “Sweet Stems” embossing folder from their December Stitch Club and Embossing Folder Club, respectively.
I wanted to create something simple yet full of charm, and that’s exactly what this interactive slide pop-up card delivers!
The “A Perfect Blend” Magic! The highlight of this card is undoubtedly the charming interactive element. At first glance, you see two sweet teacups with lovely stitched heart designs. But the real magic happens when you pull the tab on the side of the card!
The cups slide towards each other, and voilà – a complete heart is formed right in the middle! It’s such a delightful surprise and truly embodies the sentiment “A Perfect Blend.” I just love how a simple pull can bring so much joy and meaning to the card.
Crafting the Background: For the background, I used the beautiful “Sweet Stems” embossing folder. I chose a rich Indigo cardstock for a sophisticated touch. A little tip for those trying this at home: make sure to cut out the slider mechanism’s opening before you emboss the cardstock. This ensures a clean and crisp embossed pattern around your interactive elements.
Color Palette & Details: The teacups themselves are die-cut from lovely Blush and Waterfall cardstocks, creating a soft yet vibrant contrast against the deep indigo background. The delicate stitching on the hearts adds a handmade touch and extra dimension, making the cups truly pop. Even the tiny heart tags on the teabags contribute to the cohesive “love” theme!
I believe a handmade card should not only be beautiful but also offer a little moment of joy or surprise, and this interactive design achieves just that. It’s perfect for anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, or simply to tell someone they are a “perfect blend” in your life.
