Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas 2025 Day 9
DAY 9 – Christmas Cupcake Tag
12 Days of Stitchmas 2025 Advent Calendar
Day 9 arrives with a small, sweet brightness—
a festive cupcake stitched in winter red, topped with glittered icing and holly leaves.
Today’s tag grew from familiar pieces: saved backgrounds, leftover strips,
and the steady rhythm of this December stitching journey.
The base began with a leftover piece from Day 5—
the Snowfall Shimmer BetterPress Plate background,
pressed earlier with Satin Pastel hot foil.
I trimmed the remaining portion and shaped the top with the
3-in-1 Tag Punch | Spellbinders, letting the soft snowflake shimmer set the tone.
Along the bottom, I added a strip cut from the scrap-paper panel used on Day 6,
a simple band of color grounding the tag.
The cupcake from Day 9 was die cut from
Cranberry cardstock for the wrapper,
Truffle cardstock for the chocolate cake,
and white glitter cardstock for the icing.
Each piece was layered together, letting the red stitching shine against the glittered top.
For the holly leaves and berries, I used coordinating cardstock scraps,
bringing a fresh pop of green to the tag.
A leftover sentiment—
“Merry Christmas,” hot foiled in white on dark cardstock using the
Merry Messages Plate & Die Set – Wonderland Collection—
was added across the lower portion.
Soft shimmer, red stitching, and a little holiday sweetness—
Day 9 feels like a warm winter treat.
Day 9 gathers scraps and sparkle into a small celebration of color and season.
Tomorrow brings Day 10, ready to carry the story forward.
Happy crafting, Heejung.
