Holiday Cheer with More Say Cheese Classic Mouse Christmas Cards
Hello everyone! I’m so excited to share two more festive cards I created with the fantastic new Say Cheese Classic Mouse Christmas Collection from Spellbinders. This collection has truly inspired me to create a variety of whimsical holiday designs. I hope these projects will spark your imagination and inspire your own holiday crafting!
Card 1: A Sparkling Mickey Wreath Card
This cheerful card begins with a clean white cardstock background, embossed using the Holiday Lights 3D Embossing Folder. The embossed light strings were subtly colored with a silver metallic marker, while the individual bulbs glowed with light aqua blue and sunny yellow markers.
At the heart of the card sits a lush wreath, die-cut from dark green cardstock using the Classic Mouse Holiday Wreath Etched Dies. To enhance its brilliance, I layered it over silver metallic cardstock, making it shimmer, and then adorned it with a mix of vibrant red and iridescent opal gems. The classic red ribbon bow, die-cut from Poppy Cardstock, was gracefully placed at the base of the wreath.
Mickey Mouse himself, die-cut from the iconic Steamboat Willie Duo Etched Dies, was dressed for the occasion with a Santa hat from the Classic Mouse Christmas Embellishments Etched Dies. I attached both Mickey and the wreath with foam stickers for wonderful dimension. The “Happy Christmas” sentiment was hot foiled in white onto Poppy Cardstock using the Mistletoe Greetings Press Plate & Die for a polished finish.
Card 2: A Minnie Mouse in a Winter Wonderland Window
This charming card features a unique Minnie Mouse-shaped window. I created it by die-cutting two different-sized circles from white cardstock to form the iconic silhouette. After the window was cut, I embossed the white panel with the Starry Snowfall 3D Embossing Folder, adding a beautiful textured snowflake pattern.
I then attached this embossed white panel with foam stickers onto a Fawn Cardstock base, allowing the soft color to peek through the Minnie window. Inside and around the window, delicate snowflakes in Poppy, Hunter, and white cardstock, die-cut from the Christmas Wreath Add-Ons Etched Dies, create a winter wonderland scene.
A delightful Minnie Mouse figure was placed within the window, also elevated with foam stickers. Her Santa hat, just like on the first card, was crafted from the Classic Mouse Christmas Embellishments Etched Dies, which also includes the adorable peppermint stick she holds. The “Christmas Greetings” sentiment, part of the same Mistletoe Greetings Press Plate & Die set used for the first card, was hot foiled in white onto Poppy Cardstock. Batch hot foiling multiple sentiments at once is a fantastic time-saver! I finished the card with a scattering of red gems for a final festive touch.
I had so much fun creating with this festive collection, and I hope these two projects provide you with plenty of ideas for your own holiday creations. The Say Cheese Classic Mouse Christmas Collection offers so many possibilities for adding joy to your paper crafting projects!
