Cake in the Face! Cards with You Wanted Cake Too, the November All Clubs Crate Bonus Die | Spellbinders
Hello, crafty friends!
Cake is better in the face than on a plate β at least on these cards! Both cards are made with You Wanted Cake Too (CLD-NOV26), the bonus die set for November All Clubs Crate subscribers from Spellbinders. The girls and boys on these cards are having a very messy, very funny birthday.
π Surprise! Cake in the Face Card
Background:
The panel is Fairy Tale cardstock, embossed with Frosted Finish, the November 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. The swirly texture looks just like swirled frosting, so the background already feels like a cake before anything is added.
Focal Images:
The girl is built with the You Wanted Cake Too bonus die. The sweater is Mulberry cardstock, with a Mint cardstock blouse showing at the neckline. A whole cake lands right on her face β the cake splat sits on a plate of silver mirror cardstock, so the plate really shines.
The best part is the hand holding the plate: the arm is part of the die set and folds, so the cake swings open to the side β and her smiling face appears underneath! The sleeve is Teal Topaz cardstock and the hand is Bellini cardstock. The party hat is die-cut from Teal Topaz and Waterfall cardstock, with a yellow pom-pom on top.
Sentiment:
Two sentiments finish the joke. The ‘SURPRISE’ banner is die-cut from Waterfall cardstock, and ‘Cake LOOKS GOOD ON YOU’ is stamped and die-cut with Congratulations! You’re Older, the November Clear Stamp & Die of the Month.
You Said You Wanted Cake Card
Background:
The background is a grid of four panels. Seaside, Rainforest, Blush, and Saffron cardstock are each cut to a quarter of an A2 panel and embossed with Wonky Check, the November Embossing Folder of the Month, so four bright colors meet in the middle with the same checkered texture.
Focal Images:
Three boys from the You Wanted Cake Too bonus die sit in the boxes, one in each panel. The faces are die-cut from Acorn, Chiffon, and Bellini cardstock, and the hair is die-cut from Raven, Saffron, and Truffle cardstock. One boy’s face is completely hidden under a big cake splat! The party hats are striped: one in Rainforest and Blush, and one in Poppy and Coral cardstock. A second cake splat in the Blush panel holds the silver plate, with a hand pressed right into the cake.
Sentiment:
‘YOU SAID YOU WANTED CAKE’ is stamped and die-cut with Congratulations! You’re Older, the November Clear Stamp & Die of the Month, and placed right on top of the cake splat that covers the third boy’s face.
Messy, silly, and so much fun to make! Thank you so much for stopping by today. See you in the next project!
Happy Crafting,
