Cake Caper Goose Card | Spellbinders November Press & Foil Club
Hello, crafty friends!
A goose, a cake, and a very good excuse! This funny birthday card is made with Cake Caper, the November Press & Foil Club plate from Spellbinders. The images are pressed, colored with stencils, and arranged in a four-panel grid with bright cardstock and shiny foiled sentiments.
Background:
The card front is a grid of four panels, and each panel is a quarter of an A2 card — 2 1/8″ × 2 3/4″. Two panels are the pressed and colored images, and the other two are plain cardstock: Teal Topaz in the top left and Saffron in the bottom right, each cut to the same quarter size so all four panels line up neatly.
Focal Images:
The goose images start with the Cake Caper Press & Foil Plate, pressed with black BetterPress ink. The coordinating stencil set is then used to color the images — pink frosting, chocolate cake layers, and little party hats. The colored piece is cut into the quarter-size panels, and two of them go on the card on the diagonal: one goose wearing a two-tier cake, and one goose happily carrying a cake with lit candles.
Sentiment:
Both sentiments come from the sentiment plates in the same November Press & Foil Club set. ‘THE CAKE WAS ASKING FOR IT’ and ‘Make a Wish’ are hot-foiled in white on matching cardstock — Teal Topaz on Teal Topaz, and Saffron on Saffron — then die-cut and placed on the plain panels. The white foil lettering shines softly against the tone-on-tone backgrounds.
A goose with cake is always a good idea! Thank you so much for stopping by today. See you in the next project!
Happy Crafting,
