Spellbinders October Large Die Clubs: Lit With Joy Christmas Tree Cards
Hello, crafty friends! Today’s the day β Spellbinders’ October clubs are now available! π To celebrate, I’m sharing two Christmas cards made with October’s “Lit With Joy” large die set. The fun part? Both cards feature the same tree die, but with two totally different backgrounds β one stenciled, one die-cut! Let’s dive into the details!
Stenciled Plaid Christmas Tree Card
Background:
Created a plaid background by stenciling with October’s “Wrapped In Wonder” stencil and four colors of ink β Ocean Waves and Dusk from Altenew’s Cool Summer Night mini ink setΒ (Ocean weave & Dusk), plus Apricot and Peach Fuzz from Pinkfresh Studio’s mini inks and Altenew’s Rouge.
Focal Images:
Die-cut the vintage ceramic Christmas tree with October’s “Lit With Joy” large die set β the tree layers are Waterfall, Teal Topaz, and Ocean Side cardstock, topped with a Gold Metallic Cardstock star.
The light bulbs were die-cut from white cardstock, colored, and attached. The tree is popped up with foam adhesive for dimension β and the sweetest detail: it comes with a tiny wall outlet and a cord plugged in!
Sentiment:
Gold heat-embossed “decked out and merry” with October’s “Crafted With Cheer” clear stamp set, then die-cut with the coordinating die.
Striped Wallpaper Christmas Tree Card
Background: Created a striped wallpaper background using the strip die from October’s “Lit With Joy” large die set β I die-cut strips from Coral and Bellini cardstock, then adhered them side by side, alternating the two colors for a pretty wallpaper effect.
Focal Images:
Die-cut the vintage ceramic Christmas tree with October’s “Lit With Joy” large die set β the tree layers are Fern, Rainforest, and Peridot cardstock. The light bulbs were die-cut from white cardstock, colored, and attached, just like the first card.
I dabbed white pearl paste on the branches for a snow-dusted look. The tree is popped up with foam adhesive for dimension, finished with a star topper and the tiny wall outlet with its cord plugged in!
Sentiment:
Gold heat-embossed “decked out and merry” β also from October’s “Crafted With Cheer” clear stamp set and coordinating die β die-cut and popped up with foam adhesive for dimension.
I love how the “Lit With Joy” tree looks completely different depending on the background β stenciled plaid versus die-cut striped wallpaper! Same die set, two totally different vibes. Which card is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!
Thank you so much for stopping by today.

My own project struggled with that same die design. The stenciled version looked quite different when I tried to assemble it.
