Filled With Love – Spellbinders Large Die of the Month | May 2025

If you love fun, functional, and interactive cards, this one’s for you!
Today, I’m sharing a project made with the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for May 2025, which features an incredibly charming fridge-shaped card base. I paired it with the coordinating Spell It Out: Fridge Staples Die Set to decorate the inside with detailed, miniature groceries and bottle die cuts.

This card truly is “filled with love”—and a whole lot of creative fun. Let’s break it down step-by-step!

✂️ Supplies Used:

  1. Spellbinders Large Die of the Month – May 2025 (Fridge base & front details)

  2. Spell It Out: Fridge Staples Die Set (jars, drinks, condiments & magnets)

  3. Mint cardstock for fridge body

  4. Silver mirror cardstock for fridge handles

  5. Black & red cardstock for letters

  6. Pattern Paper for Jam Covers

  7. Foam tape, glue, and a scoring tool for folding

🛠 Step-by-Step Instructions

🧊 Front of the Card (Fridge Door):

  1. Cut the Base:
Die-cut the fridge card base from mint green cardstock. This gives it a soft, retro kitchen vibe.

  2. Add the Handles:
Use silver mirror cardstock to cut the fridge and freezer handles. Attach them vertically to the left and bottom sides of the fridge using foam tape for dimension.

  3. Decorate the Door:
Use the Spell It Out Die (DOML of MAY 25)to create mini notes, papers, photo frames, a potted plant, and an apple magnet. Layer them like they’re pinned to the fridge with red enamel dots or cardstock circles as magnets.

  4. Die-cut the phrase “FILLED WITH LOVE” using Raven and Poppy cardstock. Center it on the front of the fridge for a bold impact. I used a white gel pen to add shading to the phrase. Additionally, I included a tiny cup die for an extra touch of warmth and hominess.

🧃 Inside of the Card (Fridge Interior):

  1. Build the Shelves:
Cut and adhere horizontal shelf strips using iridescent or holographic cardstock for a modern feel.

  2. Stock the Fridge:
Use the Spell It Out: Fridge Staples dies to cut out various pantry and drink items:

    • Soda bottles and glass milk jugs

    • Jam jars with tiny fabric lids

    • Condiment bottles like mustard, hot sauce, and salad dressing

    • Water bottles, mushrooms, juice bottles, and cartons

  3. Assemble the Items:
Mix and match colors and layer tiny details (like bottle caps or labels) to make each item come alive. Use foam tape sparingly to give some elements dimension.

This fridge card was SO much fun to put together, and it’s perfect for sending a warm, personal message—especially to someone who loves cooking, hosting, or just adorable papercrafts. With Spellbinders’ thoughtful die designs, the details practically build themselves!

The Large Die of the Month – May 2025 is a standout subscription, and I highly recommend grabbing the coordinating Fridge Staples set while it’s available. This pair makes for endless variations of fridge scenes—birthdays, recipes, even mini menus!
