Winter Whimsy with the Christmas Blush Collection by Frank Garcia | Spellbinders

Welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m excited to share two pastel-toned holiday cards featuring the lovely Christmas Blush Collection by Frank Garcia for Spellbinders. Soft icy blues, lavenders, and sweet blush pinks bring a magical, cozy charm to Christmas cardmaking. I created a cute snowman card and an adorable winter bear card filled with rich textures, dimensional snow, and elegant hot foiling.

Sweet Snowman Card

To craft the first card, I started by dry embossing Seaside cardstock using the Starry Snowfall 3D Embossing Folder of the Month (JULY 2025). To pop the detailed background pattern, I gently shaded the raised design with Pool ink.

Next, I assembled the charming snowman using the Sweet Snowman Etched Dies by Frank Garcia. I die-cut the hat and scarf in soft purple and Waterfall tones, adding layered dimension for a cozy winter look.

For the sentiment, I used the Merry Messages Press Plate & Die Set from the Wonderland Collection. I hot foiled “MERRY CHRISTMAS” onto Lavender cardstock using Matte Silver Hot Foil, die-cut it, and mounted it near the bottom. I finished the card with sparkling crystal gems for an extra touch of icy shimmer!

Bundled Up Winter Bear Card

For the second card, I crafted a serene winter forest scene for our cute bear dressed up for the snowy weather! I created the backdrop by stamping pine trees from the Into the Wild Clear Stamp Set by Josh Griffiths Studio and coloring them with alcohol markers. Using a large blending brush, I softly shaded the top to create a gentle blue sky.

To bring the forest to life with real texture, I applied Hero Paste White Pearl using a palette knife onto the tree branches to look like freshly fallen snow. I created the snowy ground using the Landscape Edges Etched Dies from the On the Farm Collection and mounted it at the bottom.

The star of the card is the sweet girl bear made with the Bundled Up Winter Bear Etched Dies by Frank Garcia. After assembling her in cozy pink, teal, and winter layers, I popped her up using foam adhesives for extra depth. Finally, I hot foiled “WARM WINTER WISHES” from the Merry Messages Press Plate & Die Set using Matte Gold Hot Foil, die-cut the sentiment, and adhered it beneath the snowdrift.
