Tropical Golden Hibiscus | Spellbinders June 2026 Press & Foil Club
Hello, crafty friends!
I am so excited to welcome the warm weather with a stunning tropical project featuring the brand new Spellbinders June 2026 Press & Foil Plate of the Month—”Hibiscus Bloom.” This kit is absolutely breathtaking and perfect for adding a touch of island elegance to your summer cards.
For today’s project, I combined the luxurious shimmer of gold with soft “Matcha” green tones to create a balanced, high-end tropical look. Here is how it all came together!
Matte Gold Foiling: I started by foiling the “Hibiscus Bloom” Press & Foil Plate onto white cardstock using Matte Gold foil. The result is a crisp, elegant outline that looks incredibly professional. Once foiled, I used the coordinating die to cut the flower out.
Marker Coloring: To bring the hibiscus to life, I colored the petals and leaves using markers. I focused on building warm yellows and oranges in the flower centers to simulate depth and a natural tropical glow.
Sculpting the Background: For the backdrop, I reached for a classic favorite—the Scattered Tropics 3D Embossing Folder (May 2024, 3EOM-MAY24). I embossed a panel of white cardstock to create a lush, deeply textured field of tropical leaves.
The Matcha Glow: To make that 3D texture really pop, I used a blending brush to softly apply Matcha color ink over the embossed areas. This soft green hue highlights the intricate leaf patterns perfectly.
Stamping the Sentiment: I chose the “Mahalo My Friend” sentiment from this month’s June 2026 Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club. I stamped it clearly, die-cut it, and attached it to the card front using foam stickers to create beautiful dimension.
Finishing Touches: To tie the whole look together, I adhered the colored Hibiscus bloom over the inked background and added a few gold embellishments for that final touch of sparkle.
