Spellbinders-December Small Die & BetterPress Club Cards
Some designs arrive like a whisper of winter light—two hearts shaped in different worlds, yet held together by the same December magic.
This month’s Spellbinders December Small Die Club “Better Together” and BetterPress Club “I’d Pick You” Plate Set harmonize beautifully, and today I’m sharing two cards created with both collections, each celebrating partnership, closeness, and the quiet joy of being paired.
Owl Couple Under the Moonlit Heart
For the background, I used Indigo cardstock and die-cut the heart window included in the Small Die Club set. I added gold watercolor splatters to create a night-sky look.
Behind the heart window, I embossed white cardstock with the December 3D Embossing Folder “Unlock My Heart” and blended yellow ink over it so the hearts look like a warm moon glow. I popped up the Indigo panel with foam tape to give dimension.
The owl couple was die-cut using the December Small Die “Better Together”, and I added small flowers and red hearts included in the set.
For the sentiment, I used the BetterPress Club plate, hot foiled in matte gold on Indigo cardstock, and placed it under the owls with foam tape.
Floating Otters in Crystal Water
I pressed the heart plate from the December BetterPress Club “I’d Pick You” using turquoise BetterPress ink onto Seaside cardstock. Then I blended Pool ink lightly around the edges to get a soft water effect. With a white gel pen, I added simple reflection marks.
When I added the otter pair from the Small Die “Better Together,” I realized how naturally the scene matches the sentiment. They just float, side by side, lightly holding hands, without trying to do anything special. It feels like a reminder that sometimes the best time spent together is when nothing is planned at all.
The sentiment from the December Clear Stamp & Die Club “Simply Said” says:
“Let’s do nothing together.”
I like how honest and cute this sounds—no pressure, no big event, just being together. It fits the otters perfectly, and it also made me smile while finishing the card.
