Get ready to play your hand with the incredibly fun and versatile Jack and Trade Collection from Spellbinders! This month brought us an exciting add-on that perfectly complements the playful spirit of the collection, and I couldn’t wait to create a card featuring the mischievous Wild Joker.

Inspired by the vibrant possibilities of the DIY Color Deck, I crafted a card that bursts with energy and personality, all thanks to the Deluxe Deck Press Plate featuring the iconic Joker. Let’s dive into how this card came to life!

The Deluxe Deck Press Plate truly captures the essence of the Joker with its intricate details and dynamic pose. Paired with a bold color palette chosen from the DIY Color Deck, this card will surely bring a smile to anyone’s face. And that fantastic add-on item released this April? 

Ready to create your own Wild Joker masterpiece? Here’s a step-by-step guide:

 

🛠 What You’ll Need:

  1. Spellbinders Jack and Trade Collection: Deluxe Deck Press Plate (Joker)
  2. Spellbinders DIY Color Deck (for color inspiration)
  3. Spellbinders-Wild Joker Dies
  4. Cardstock in various colors (chosen based on your DIY Color Deck inspiration, Poppy, Blue Spruce, Blush, and Anchor)
  5. White cardstock for the sentiment banner
  6. Gold cardstock or foil for accents
  7. Adhesive
  8. Foam squares 
  9. Die-cutting machine
  10. BetterPress System
  11. BetterPress Black Ink

✂️ Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Create the Background:

  2.  Prepare the Joker elements,

    • Carefully die-cut the Joker image using the wild Joker dies.
    • The Joker’s color combination is the brush, Poppy, and Blue Sprouce colors. This is where the inspiration from your DIY Color Deck truly shines!

  3. Create the Sentiment Banner:

    • Cut a strip of white cardstock using a die from the Wild Joker die set.
    •  Create the sentiment “JOKER” using the Wild Joker die set on gold metallic card stock. 
    • Adhere the sentiment banner across the center of the card, slightly overlapping the Joker image. Using the foam stickers, you can angle it for a more playful look.

  4. Assemble the Card:

    • Adhere the layered Joker element onto the prepared background using adhesive or foam squares for added dimension.
    • Mount the completed background panel onto a card background panel.
