Snow Globe Scenes Collection by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders

Hello, crafty friends!

The October release is here, and today I’m sharing two snow globe cards made with October’s “Snow Globe Scenes Die Bundle“ by Simon Hurley. I love how these tiny scenes come together — each one feels like a little winter story inside a globe!

Merry Moments Snow Globe Card

Background:

I die-cut Cascade cardstock with October’s “Quilted Etched Dies” to create the soft quilted background panel.

Focal Images:

For the snow globe, I used the Simon’s Snow Globe Etched Dies by Simon Hurley. I die-cut a circle and blended ink with a blending brush to create the night sky.

Then I die-cut the city scene from October’s “City Skating Scene Etched Dies” using Fog and Anchor cardstock, and layered a piece of cardstock colored with yellow ink behind the buildings so the windows look lit up.

The skaters were die-cut from black cardstock, and the tree from fern cardstock with a saffron star and a poppy garland. Before assembling the globe, I added white splatter to look like falling snow.

Sentiment:

The globe base was die-cut from brushed gold cardstock. I die-cut the “MERRY MOMENTS” sentiment from poppy cardstock and popped it up with foam tape to finish the card.

'Tis the Season Snow Globe Card

Background:

I die-cut Blue Spruce cardstock with October’s “Ripple Rectangle Frames Etched Dies” to create the ripple-edged base panel.

Focal Images:

To create the falling snow, I hot-foiled the Sprinkled Confetti Press Plates from the Home for the Holidays Collection in white on seaside cardstock, then die-cut the globe with the Simon’s Snow Globe Etched Dies.

I die-cut the snowy hill and the sweet little truck from October’s “Holiday Truck Scene Etched Dies” — the truck in poppy cardstock, the Christmas tree in fern cardstock with a saffron star, plus little gift boxes. The roadside trees came from the snow globe die set, die-cut in rainforest cardstock.

Sentiment:

The globe base was die-cut from beeswax cardstock. I die-cut the “‘TIS THE SEASON” sentiment from Dahlia cardstock with October’s “Holiday Truck Scene Etched Dies” and popped it up with foam tape to finish the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope these snow globe cards inspire your holiday crafting.

Happy Crafting, Heejung!
