Hi everyone! Today I’m so excited to share a fun and interactive “Wiper Pop-up Card” featuring the amazing March 2024 Club Kits from Spellbinders. This card is perfect for all the “Number One Fans” in your life—whether it’s for Father’s Day, a birthday, or just to celebrate a big win!
Video Tutorial
Before we dive into the details, you can watch the full step-by-step tutorial right here. It’ll show you exactly how this “surprisingly easy” mechanism comes together! 👇 Watch the Tutorial below:
The final folded size of this card is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. To create the interactive structure, I prepared two main panels with a height of 5 1/2″
Back Panel: 5″ (Width) x 5 1/2″ (Height)
Front Panel: 3 1/4″ (Width) x 5 1/2″ (Height) (I recommend cutting the width to 3 1/4″ to have some extra room to work with).
For the hidden wiper mechanism, I used a 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ square, scored diagonally.
I used the Classic Kicks Large Die of the Month for the adorable beer and BBQ details, and the Good Times Clear Stamp Set for those tiny, perfect labels. The highlight of this card is the hidden mechanism: when you pull the sides, a #1 FAN foam finger pops up from the center! I added realistic coloring with OLO markers and finished the look with some white gel pen highlights. To give the front panel more depth, I used foam squares to pop up one of the beer bottles against the beautiful Cosmic Sky background.
I hope this card inspires you to create something fun for your favorite “MVP.” It was such a joy to see all these tiny details come together for a big surprise! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching the video.
Happy crafting!
