Spellbinders- Say Cheese Classic Mouse Collection

I’m thrilled to share some cards I’ve created using the new Spellbinders Say Cheese Classic Mouse Collection! This collection features beloved Disney characters and elements, perfect for adding a touch of magic to your paper crafts.

Steamboat Willie Adventure Card

This nostalgic card features Mickey Mouse piloting his steamboat, created by pressing the Steamboat Willie Press Plate onto a Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel with Black BetterPress Ink. The outlines were enhanced with colorful markers.

Materials You’ll Need:

  2. Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel
  3. Black BetterPress Ink
  4. Classic Mouse Borders Etched Dies
  5. Beeswax Cardstock
  6. Cosmic Sky Cardstock
  7. Silly Old Bear Sentiments Press Plate & Die

To create a decorative look for the lower part of the card, the Classic Mouse Borders Etched Dies were used to frame this classic scene. These borders were die-cut from both Beeswax and Cosmic Sky cardstock, resulting in a layered effect.

The whimsical phrase, “an adventure was going to happen,” is from the Silly Old Bear Sentiments Press Plate & Die set. It was stamped in black ink on white cardstock, then die-cut and adhered to the card with foam adhesive for dimension. The finished panel is attached to a card base, ready for a special occasion.

Mickey Mouse Hello & Swell Card

This cheerful card highlights Mickey Mouse’s fun personality! It features a sunny yellow base with a white background, embossed using the Rosette Burst 3D Embossing Folder, which creates a dynamic pattern. Two striking circular die cuts take center stage.

The top circle is Cascade card stock with Cosmic Sky edge, featuring a playful winking Mickey and the greeting “WELL, HELLO THERE!” Below it, the second circle is vibrant yellow with a red border, showcasing Mickey’s big smile and the word “SWELL!” in a dynamic style. 

These elements were likely created using the Frame & Sentiments Etched Dies, which provide various shapes and sentiment frames. Adding extra flair, each circle is complemented by charming die-cut sunbursts in coordinating cascade and Beeswax, possibly from the Flags & Banners Etched Dies set.

Mickey & Minnie Love Card

This charming card shows Mickey Mouse presenting a pink flower to Minnie Mouse, both wearing joyful expressions.

  3. Heart Swag Embossing Folder
  4. Blush Cardstock
  5. Poppy Cardstock
  6. Beeswax Card Stock

  8. White Hot Foiling

The background is made from Blush cardstock, beautifully embossed with the Heart Swag Embossing Folder, which adds a lovely tactile texture of swirling hearts.

Two vibrant red hearts float between them, symbolizing their affection. At the bottom of the card, a deep red banner reads “LOVE YOU ALWAYS” in elegant white lettering, created with white hot foiling on Poppy cardstock. The design is framed by a clean white border, making the scene stand out.
