Spellbinders- La Dolce Vita Collection

Hello, crafty friends!

I’m excited to share some projects I’ve created using the beautiful “La Dolce Vita” Collection from Spellbinders, which was launched this June. This collection perfectly captures the essence of a lovely summer, inspired by the vibrant and picturesque Mediterranean. I’ve used various dies and sentiments from this collection to bring these cards to life, and I can’t wait to show you the details!

Card 1: The Enchanting Mediterranean Door

This stunning card transports you right to a sun-drenched Greek island!

When you open the card, you can see the view outside from the door.

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. Main Dies Used:  Beyond the Door Etched Dies
  2. Background–Plaster 3D Embossing Folder from Simon’s Birthday Bash Collection
  3. Sentiment: La Dolce Vita Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set from the La Dolce Vita Collection

**Prepare the Card Base**: Overlap two A2-sized (8.5 x 5.5 inches) white cardstock pieces, folding each in half. Adhere them together so that a beach view is revealed when opened. The card can be opened further to reveal a hidden message area.

**Create the Textured Background**: Cut a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than the card base. Die-cut an arch in this panel where the door die will go. Emboss the panel with a texture design, then adhere it to the card base.

Add Sentiment: The “CIAO” text was created using the La Dolce Vita Sentiments BetterPress plate, inked with black BetterPress ink, pressed, then die-cut, and glued inside the card, visible through the opening.

 

Card 2: Happy Birthday Sunshine!

This enchanting card beautifully captures a serene sunbathing scene at the beach, brought to life by the Amalfi Breeze die from the collection.

I used the Beewax card stock for the background.

I created a beach towel pattern by cutting the Blue Spruce cardstock into 1/5-inch-wide strips and die-cutting the towel edges with the Amalfi Breeze die from the collection.

I used a hat die from the Breezy Swing die (DOM, August 23).

 

Add Sentiment: The “Happy Birthday Day” text was created using the La Dolce Vita Sentiments BetterPress plate, inked with black BetterPress ink, pressed, then die-cut, and glued.

Card 3: Thank You from the High Seas!

Send your gratitude with this charming nautical-themed card.

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. Deckside Dreams Etched Dies,
  2. La Dolce Vita Sentiments BetterPress
  3. Summer time Waves EOM-JUN24
  4. Over The Rainbow Etched Dies from the Storytelling by Spellbinders
  5. Ruby Assorted Treasured Cardstock 8 1/2″ x 11″ – 15 Sheets 
  6. Aquamarine Assorted Treasured Cardstock 8 1/2″ x 11″ – 15 Sheets

The waves are die-cut from various shades of blue-toned cardstock, then embossed with a summer wave embossing folder.

I used assorted Aquamarine and Ruby cardstock for my project, and I die-cut clouds from the Over the Rainbow die.

Add Sentiment: The “Thank You” text was created using the La Dolce Vita Sentiments BetterPress plate, inked with black BetterPress ink, pressed, then die-cut, and glued in front of the card.

Card 4: Sending Sunshine Just For You

This cheerful card features a delightful sun character, radiating warmth and happiness.

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. Under the Sun Etched Dies from the La Dolce Vita Collection
  2. Quilted Memories – BetterPress Plate of the Month (MAR25)
  3. Sentiment: La Dolce Vita Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set from the La Dolce Vita Collection

To create the background, I pressed the Quilted Memories – BetterPress Plate of the Month (MAR25) onto porcelain Cotton Card Stock using black ink. Then, I colored it with blue markers.

 

Add Sentiment: The “Sending Sunshine Just For You” text was created using the La Dolce Vita Sentiments BetterPress plate, inked with black BetterPress ink, pressed, then die-cut, and glued.

Card 5: La Dolce Vita Citrus Blooms

This elegant card celebrates the “sweet life” with stunning citrus blossoms. I embossed it on white card stock using the Lemon Fresco 3D embossing folder and added color shading with a blending brush in Breeze ink.

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. Lemon Fresco 3D Embossing Folder from the La Dolce Vita Collection
  2. Citrus Spritz Etched Dies from the La Dolce Vita Collection 
  3. La Dolce Vita Banners Etched Dies from the La Dolce Vita Collection 
  4. Make a Wish Arch Labels Etched Dies from the Monster Birthday Collection

I die-cut the sentiments on silver metallic card stock using the La Dolce Vita Banners Etched Dies.

Also I adhere the Clear water droplet on the lemons.
