Spellbinders- Cheerful Chirps Collection
Hello crafting friends!
I’m thrilled to share three new cards that I’ve created using the recently released Spellbinders Cheerful Chirps Collection. This collection is absolutely adorable and perfect for adding a whimsical touch to my paper crafting projects.
1. Happy Anniversary Lovebirds

This lovely card is perfect for celebrating anniversaries, featuring two sweet birds nestled together.

Materials You’ll Need:
- Pretty Birds Die
- Background Embossing Folder: Two Hearts 3D Embossing Folder (3D EOM- DEC23)
- Essential Hearts Etched Dies from the Floral Reflection Collection
- Watercoloring Paper
- Artists’ Watercolor 24 Pan Set – Altenew
- Silver Metallic Cardstock
- You are Everything Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set
- Red enamel dots

Step by Step:
- I started by creating the card’s background. I embossed white cardstock using the beautiful Two Hearts as One 3D Embossing Folder (3D EOM Dec 23)
- After embossing, I used a blending brush to apply pink ink, shading over the raised areas of the embossed background. This really brought out the intricate floral pattern and added a soft, romantic touch.
- Next, I die-cut a large heart shape from white cardstock using a suitable Essential heart die and adhered it centrally onto my embossed and shaded background.
- The adorable lovebirds were die-cut from watercoloring paper using the Pretty Birds Die. I then used watercolors to bring them to life with vibrant shades of green, orange, and yellow.
- For their perch, I die-cut a swing from Silver Metallic Cardstock, adding a touch of elegance and shine, and then positioned it behind the birds.
- I added the “Happy Anniversary” sentiment below the birds.( Gold Hot Foiled the You are Everything Sentiments Press Plate)
- Finally, I placed small red embellishments around the heart and birds to complete the charming scene.
2. Love & Best Wishes Cockatoo

This colorful card showcases a beautiful cockatoo sitting on a leafy branch.

Materials You’ll Need:

Step by Step
- I created the background using the Lush Leaves 3D Embossing Folder on the waterfall cardstock, giving it a rich, textural base.
- After embossing, I used a blending brush to apply blue ink along the edges of the embossed cardstock, which helped to define the leafy pattern and add depth.
- I die-cut a charming cockatoo using the Flying High Die and added details with various mediums on watercolor cardstock, then colored it with watercolors.
- I stamped the sentiment “LOVE & BEST WISHES” from the Sending Smiles Sentiments Clear Stamp & Die Set onto Raven Cardstock using Versa Mark Ink.
- To make the sentiment stand out, I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder, which gave it a luxurious and shiny finish.
- Finally, I adhered the die-cut cockatoo and the sentiment strip to the embossed background, completing this beautiful and heartfelt card.

3. Sending Cheerful Chirps Your Way

This cheerful card showcases a cute yellow bird, perfect for sending warm wishes.

Step by Step
- I embossed the base of the card using the Bamboo Screen 3D Embossing Folder, creating an intricate patterned background.
- After embossing, I used a blending brush to apply blue ink over the raised areas of the embossed background, enhancing the texture and giving it a soft, gradient effect.
- The adorable yellow bird was die-cut from watercoloring paper using the Free Hugs Oscar Die. I then brought the bird to life with vibrant watercoloring.
- I die-cut a white cardstock piece using the Make a Wish Arch Label Die to create a decorative frame or label for the bird to sit within.
- I stamped the sentiment “SENDING cheerful chirps YOUR WAY” from the Spread Your Wings Sentiment Stamp onto the white die-cut label.
- Finally, I adhered the watercolor bird to the stamped label, and this entire assembly was then mounted onto the embossed and inked background, completing this sweet and inviting card.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these three cards created with the charming Spellbinders Cheerful Chirps Collection! I truly loved bringing these feathered friends to life with different techniques and products.
