Spellbinders May’ 25 Club Blog Hop-You’re the Boldest Crayon in the Box!

Welcome to the Spellbinders May’ 25 Club Blog Hop! If you’ve been hopping along, you’ve already seen some incredible inspiration using this fantastic membership’s impressive array of clubs. I’m Heejung Hunsberger from Hmade Boutique (you are here!). I’m thrilled to share a fun and colorful project created using the Deluxe Caboodle Value Club bonus item and coordinating May 2025 club releases.

It’s the perfect way to explore a wide range of crafting techniques.

 

For my project today, I wanted to create something playful and perfect for encouragement or a fun birthday card. I reached for the bonus item in the Deluxe Caboodle and combined it with a few other fantastic Spellbinders club offerings.

Creating a Colorful Crayon Box Card

My main focus was creating a whimsical crayon box that cleverly doubles as a gift card holder! Here’s how I brought this colorful idea to life:

1. Bold Background with BetterPress:

To start, I wanted a vibrant and textured background. I used the Form A to Z BetterPress Club of May 2025 and hot foiled it with Rainbow Foil onto a white cardstock. The rainbow foil adds such a fun and energetic feel to the script background!

 

2. Crafting the Crayon Box:

The clever Essential Envelope die became the foundation for my crayon box! By strategically die-cutting and folding the envelope shape, I created a box with an opening at the top, perfectly sized to hold a gift card inside. This is a fantastic way to get more mileage from your envelope dies!

3. Colorful Crayons:

Using the bonus dies from the Deluxe Caboodle Value Club, I cut out several crayon shapes in a variety of bright cardstock colors. I added simple black details for the crayon tips and the adorable little faces to give them personality.

4. Sentimental Message:

The perfect sentiment can truly elevate a card. I chose the playful phrase “you’re the boldest crayon in the box” from the Clear Stamp and Die Club of May 2025. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock and adhered it to the front of the crayon box. The coordinating dies made it easy to cut out the sentiment perfectly.

5. Assembling the Scene:

I arranged the colorful crayons peeking out from the top of the crayon box, adhering them with liquid glue and foam squares for dimension. The two little crayons “dancing” in front add a fun and interactive element to the card.

6. The Gift Card Surprise:

The beauty of using the Essential Envelope die to create the box is that there’s a built-in pocket inside – perfect for tucking in a gift card! This makes the card not only visually appealing but also a practical way to give a gift.

This project truly highlights the versatility and coordination possibilities within the Spellbinders club ecosystem. The Deluxe Caboodle Value Club bonus item paired beautifully with the BetterPress background and the Clear Stamp and Die Club sentiment.
